Cobalt Acquires Entrance Technologies

New York, NY (December 3, 2024) – Cobalt Service Partners today announced that it has acquired Entrance Technologies (“Entrance Tech”), a commercial pedestrian door installation and service business based in Eagle River, Wisconsin. Entrance Tech is Cobalt’s tenth acquisition since launching in December of 2023, and its ninth acquisition of 2024.

Entrance Tech was founded in 1995 by Jim Sieren. In the early days, Sieren was a one-man-shop traveling across Wisconsin to service Walmart’s automatic doors. Nearly 30 years later, Sieren and his team support all types of commercial pedestrian doors throughout Wisconsin and Michigan.

“Since the beginning, I have been most focused on serving our customers and our employees,” said Sieren. “For our customers, we have always aimed to offer solutions for any sort of ‘entrance technology’ and to provide personalized, responsive customer service. For our employees, we have worked hard to foster a family-oriented, collaborative culture.”

When Sieren decided to consider selling his business, he wanted to make sure to find a partner that would honor the culture and customer relationships that made Entrance Tech so successful. He decided to join forces with Cobalt because he felt Cobalt would respect what he had built, while also bringing fresh perspective and resources to drive Entrance Tech’s next stage of growth. “Unlike other potential acquirers that would have swallowed Entrance Tech up and disrupted everyone’s day-to-day, we chose Cobalt because they will amplify the things that we do well and support us in areas that will help us grow,” said Sieren. “Their scale creates great new opportunities for both our customers and employees that would not be available if we continued to operate independently.”

“We’re so excited to welcome Jim, his exceptional GM, Kevin Galek, and the rest of the Entrance Tech team into Cobalt,” said Tyler Hoffman and Anthony Gonzalez, Co-CEOs of Cobalt. “Entrance Tech is well known throughout Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula for providing best-in-class service to their customers. We can’t wait to continue supporting them through this exciting next step for the business.”

Coinciding with the transaction, Sieren will transition out of the business and into a much-deserved retirement. Kevin Galek will continue overseeing the day-to-day operations as Entrance Tech’s General Manager.
