Cobalt Acquires i-Tech Security and Network Solutions
New York, NY (June 5, 2024) - Cobalt Service Partners today announced that it has acquired i-Tech Security and Network Solutions (“i-Tech”). i-Tech is Cobalt’s sixth acquisition since launching in December of 2023, and its fifth acquisition of 2024.
i-Tech, based just outside of Winston Salem, North Carolina, provides commercial security services to a diverse base of customers throughout North Carolina and the surrounding states. The business was founded in 2015 by Eric Tutton and Regina Bagby. Eric’s wife, Michelle Tutton, joined as a partner in 2016.
“Recognizing a gap in the market, we established i-Tech with a mission to provide customers with a single solution for a wide range of security and technology services,” said Eric Tutton. “We quickly gained traction with customers, which presented both opportunities and challenges…The daily challenges, [though], have proven to be invigorating and rewarding, and we’re so proud of our amazing team and customer base.”
Eric and Michelle decided to partner with Cobalt for the growth opportunities Cobalt will unlock for their business, as well as the cultural alignment with the Cobalt team. “Cobalt’s ability to invest in i-Tech's growth and development will enable us to expand our capabilities, explore new opportunities, and continue to provide our customers with the best possible solutions,” said Eric Tutton. “Further, we were particularly impressed by the cultural fit between the i-Tech and Cobalt teams. Both organizations share a commitment to innovation, excellence, and employee well-being.”
“We’re thrilled to welcome Eric, Michelle, and the rest of the i-Tech team into Cobalt,” said Tyler Hoffman and Anthony Gonzalez, Co-CEOs of Cobalt. “i-Tech is a great business because it takes care of its customers and its people, and we’re honored to support its next stage of growth.”
Both Eric and Michelle will remain involved in the business – Eric focused on sales and business development, and Michelle focused on finance and accounting. Coinciding with the acquisition, Chris Nowlin, a seasoned leader in the security, technology, and public safety markets, has assumed the role of i-Tech CEO.
