Founding Story

“I started Digi just over 20 years ago while I was working as a software developer at RAE Corporation, a local refrigeration and HVAC manufacturing company. I noticed a lack of good options for local organizations in need of security services, so figured I might as well start tinkering. As is the case with any new business, it was a grind in the early days, and we made too many mistakes to list. What got us through those difficult times, though, was our unrelenting commitment to our partners and our people. Digi feels like family, and it's always been that way. That's what makes Digi Digi, and we're so grateful we get to honor that culture under Cobalt.”

Why Cobalt?

“We chose Cobalt for two key reasons. First, we felt strong values alignment with the Cobalt team from the first time we met. Cobalt thinks about building businesses in the same way we do: it all starts with people. And that was so refreshing to us. Second, we believe that Cobalt's model is a perfect fit for us.
