Founding Story

“Founded in 2001 in Charlotte, NC, Piedmont's inception stemmed from the observation of a continued decline in local customer focus within the commercial pedestrian door market. This realization, coupled with the consolidation of independent distributors and the growing complexity of entrance solutions, underscored the need for a new approach. Piedmont was built as an answer to that problem. We provide the streamlined, one-stop-shop solution that the commercial door industry previously lacked, and we do it with a fantastic company culture that is central to our success. I always say that it’s not the product that separates a company, but the people. That’s our guiding focus, and is what led us to Cobalt in 2023.”
